Every single person who is Born Again, has a calling
on his or her life, a mission if you will.
You see when we became a new creation like the Word
describes in 2nd Cor. 5:17 we were created anew in our Spirit, you
see up until then our Spirit man was dead, you might say we were created anew
from the inside out.
17.Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.
The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
“OK, so I’m a new creation, but I don’t have any
calling, I’m just a normal person going about my life; there is nothing special
or spiritual about me.”
I hear this a lot, Paul actually heard it also and
he addressed it in a letter to the Ephesians he said...

therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of
the calling to which you have been called, 2with all humility and
gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3eager to maintain the
unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4There is one body and
one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— 5one Lord, one faith,
one baptism, 6one
God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. 7But grace was given to
each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift. 8Therefore it says,
“When he ascended on high he led a host of captives,
and he gave gifts to men.”a
and he gave gifts to men.”a
As you can see from the above text every single one
of us is called to walk in the following.
Humility, Gentleness, Patience, Love, Unity, and
Peace.
“But John, I’m just a sinner saved by grace!”
We all are, there never has been a sinless person
saved, we are born into a world dominated by sin, it’s even in our bloodline at
birth because we are all Adam’s descendants. Have you ever wondered why a baby is born
great at being selfish, but must be taught to share…it’s our Adamic nature
passed on down through the generations. We are literally born good… at being
bad!
But now inside you lives’ the most precious and
powerful deposit, that of The Holy Spirit Himself .You have been created a new,
if you will feed your spirit man, that alive creation that you now are, will
allow you to walk in these things, and as He directs He will grow you and call
you into other things.
To a place, where
the will of your flesh will no longer dominate you, to the point that you have to always emphasize you're a sinner, we will always be sinners, there's just no reason now to remain good at it.
And as you all know, the
flesh never has any good ideas, they’re all selfish, self-destructive, sensual,
or greedy…can I get an Amen?
Walking in the callings of Humility, Gentleness,
Patience, Love, Unity and Peace, will place a spotlight on you in your normal
affairs, your work life, home life, social life, people will be like there’s
something different about you, and that my friend opens the door to share Jesus
with them.
You are given the chance to say, this is what Jesus has done for me…and
that brothers and sisters is our mission.
